Yana Galanin

Yana Galanin was born December 10th, 1988 in Moscow, Russia. Her father, a Ukranian man, and her mother, a Russian-Jewish woman, moved to America in 1992 as Jewish refugees. After safely leaving Russia, she and her family settled in the heart of the Midwest: Toledo, Ohio.
At a young age, Yana was intrigued by bright lights and classic, vintage glamour, which propelled her into modeling at the age of thirteen. Her modeling career continued through her college years. After the birth of her daughter, Armani Lynn, Yana shifted her focus to being behind the camera. During this career shift, Yana dove into the photography field headfirst and was ready to pave her way as an independent artist in the Toledo area. After a few years of self-teaching, along with lots of hands-on work, Yana climbed the ladder of success.

On April 20th, 2012, at the age of 23, Yana started her grassroots photography business, Yana Galanin Photography, located in the artsy warehouse district of downtown Toledo. It's been two years since the Yana Galanin Photography doors have opened, and Yana is proud to be recognized especially for her wedding and boudoir photography. Outside of the studio, Yana enjoys editing, traveling, music festivals, and spending time with friends and family. Most of Yana's passion lies as the eyes of the camera, capturing beautiful and key moments in people's lives. By nature, she is a storyteller, and expressing her way through photography is her piece of the puzzle to collectivitiy of creators.
