Art Connolly

Since a child I have been interested in photography. I can remember waiting eagerly for the latest edition of my parent's copy of Life magazine to arrive in the mail. I would devour each and every photograph marvelling at each photo and story.



As a boy, I received a camera one Christmas. I can't tell you what kind of camera it was but it was plastic and had the viewfinder at the top of the camera so that you looked down through the top to see your subject. Looking back I now realize that it was very basic but in my mind it was an amazing device.


I would wait for what seemed like an eternity for the pictures I had taken to come back from being developed. I loved opening the envelope containing the strips of negatives and newly developed pictures and looking at them for the first time. In my mind it was magic.


I use photography to express myself....to say something....to show a different point of view....to evoke emotion.


My choice of subjects come from anywhere and everywhere. I love street photography and the possibilities that it holds. I love people and try to capture them and their moments...
