Like all great artists, Katie’s work raises endless questions. The light in the window is from the sun, hidden behind the possibly abandoned church…how many different directions does this story go in?? Is the sun breathing energy and light into the church, a renewal? Is the sun hidden so as to create a commentary on divine mystery? Is this yet another affirmation of energy and love flowing from inside the artist? What happens as the sun sets, and the light slowly fades? What feelings arise in the viewer? Does the presence of the electric line demonstrate how superfluous modern technology is in the face of the glories of the universe. Katie’s art has become like a favorite poem, to be enjoyed again and again.
