Instaprints Introduces Product Menus
June 4th, 2012
Have you ever been at an art fair or tradeshow and wanted to be able to hand a prospective buyer a "menu" for your artwork? Something that shows all of your available sizes, prices, and ordering information...
Now you can! On each
artwork page on Instaprints, there is a new link underneath the main image that looks like this:
If you click on the link, a PDF document will open up and show you an ordering menu for that image.
Here are some examples:
You can print the PDF documents using your home printer, take them to your local print shop (e.g. FedEx Kinkos) for a more professional look, or just e-mail them directly to prospective buyers.
If you assemble a few individual PDFs together... you've got your own ordering catalog!
These PDFs are designed to help you advertise your artwork to prospective buyers and encourage them to browse and purchase your artwork online.
There's no better way to quickly and easily show your buyers what you have to offer.
Instaprints Releases "Flash-Free" Slideshows
June 1st, 2012
For those members who are interested in promoting their artwork via slideshows, Instaprints has just released a new slideshow feature which does not rely on Flash.
Why is that important?
In April, Steve Jobs posted an open letter on Apple's website stating that Apple will not support Flash on the IPhone, IPad, or any future devices:
As internet users start to do more and more web browsing on Apple's mobile devices (i.e. IPhone and IPad), they won't be able to view any Flash content. If you're currently using a slideshow tool from SmugMug, Flickr, ZenFolio, etc... mobile users won't be able to see it because it's developed in Flash.
So... Instaprints has just released a new slideshow tool that is 100% Flash free!
Just click on the
marketing widgets page from your control panel, and you'll see several different slideshows to choose from. Simply copy and paste the appropriate code onto your website or blog, and you'll instantly have a beautiful slideshow that advertises your artwork... and is visible on the mobile web!

example.
To view your artwork as a stretched canvas, simply visit one of your artwork pages and click on the link that says "Canvas Print".

Member Groups
May 14th, 2012
Members can now create their own groups! Each group is moderated by its creator and has its own:
artwork pages
discussion pages
blogs
activity pages
and more!
This is the simplest way to share artwork and ideas with like-minded Instaprints members. Join one of the existing groups or create your own!
It seems to be quite popular to discuss "who is selling" and "what is selling" on FineArtAmerica.com. Our
discussion pages are always active with posts regarding those two topics. In response to this persistent curiousity, we've created a new page which displays a partial list of recently sold prints!
The page is located
here and can be accessed anytime by clicking on Artwork -> Recently Sold Print in our navigation menu.
The page will display a random selection of prints which have sold within the past month. We will only be showing prints which have NOT been purchased by their owner. You can see where the artwork was purchase from and how the buyer configured the purchase (i.e. paper vs. canvas, frame, mat, etc.).
This is a great way to get a glimpse of what's selling and, should you chose to contact them, to learn from the artists that are having sales success!
